Ingrid Starnes is a limited edition label, making small numbered runs and pre-order and made-to-order pieces in New Zealand. Established in 2009, the brand moved to an online-first model in 2020, with lingerie, seasonal essentials, fragrance, Ceremony Bridal and custom made offerings. 

The label has opened NZ Fashion Week, staged runway shows closing Auckland city streets, and is a favourite of women everywhere that love considered, beautiful clothing made with care and transparency.

Signature exclusive prints, silk dyed to custom colourways, and a love of fabric, drape, structure and detail feature in each collection. The label’s fine fragrance Vetyver Bergamot was named one of the best products to come out of New Zealand by the magazine Monocle.

WHAT MADE IN NEW ZEALAND MEANS

All our clothing is made in New Zealand, meaning all workers have the same rights, holidays and protections as the people buying the clothes. Each garment can have up to ten local suppliers helping get it made - expert button-holers, pressers, cutters, graders, machinists, and embroiderers are all involved as required. This allows us to deliver the highest quality in the best way we can.

Ingrid Starnes garments are made locally either in editions of one, for the bridal and made to measure range, or in editions of no more than 100 for all other seasonal styles.

All pieces are numbered, to shine a light on the artist edition values, design decisions and process of meaningful production that goes into the clothing.The label also operates a four season model, as opposed to the Autumn/Winter, Spring/ Summer traditional approach. Anyone owning a piece knows theirs is special, one of a consciously limited run, and a positive alternative to over-production.
